Presale wallets: distribution links and ownership evidence
Understand why a common distributor, first funder or launch timestamp does not by itself establish common wallet ownership. Read presale context alongside holder concentration.
Separate the balance from the explanation
A group of addresses can currently hold a measurable share of supply even when the group was created by a legitimate presale distribution. The balance calculation and the claim that one person controls those addresses are different findings.
Display the observed balances and links, then state the evidence for each interpretation. Do not silently change supply figures or label a project safe because it belongs to the terminal operator.
Trace distribution using specific evidence
Useful context includes the distributor’s address, allocation transactions, dates, recipients and a verifiable description of the sale. A project statement is useful context but is not independent proof of control or independence.
Common exchange funding, batch distributions and account setup transactions can create similar patterns. Transfer events are not necessarily purchases or sales; labels should say what the chain evidence actually establishes.
Preserve uncertainty and independent checks
If a cluster is explained only by shared distribution, that relationship alone should not be presented as proven coordinated ownership. Other findings still need their own evidence: concentration, authorities, liquidity and subsequent actions can matter independently.
Token age describes time since a verified event, such as mint creation or a first observed market. It does not guarantee safety. A transparent report names which event its age refers to.
Questions and answers
Does a shared funder prove common ownership?
No. It records a funding relationship. Exchanges, presales and other shared services can distribute to independent owners.
Should a presale explanation remove every warning?
No. It may change the interpretation of that particular relationship if supported by evidence. Other findings should still be reported independently.
